Vision


      To provide a venue to foster communication and collaboration between epidemiologists in Michigan, and to promote epidemiology and public health through training, research, and advocacy.

Mission

      The MPHA Epidemiology Section is an epidemiology professional association concerned with the establishment and maintenance of requisite epidemiologic capacity to promote public health in the State of Michigan. It provides opportunities for networking, mentoring, professional development of students, academicians and public health professionals, and advocacy.

Objectives

1.  Facilitate communication and collaboration between epidemiologists working in Michigan, including those working in state, local and tribal health departments, academic institutions and other research institutions, hospitals, health organizations, business and industry.

2.  Promote capacity building and legislative support for epidemiology and public health.

3.  Produce epidemiology sessions at the annual Michigan Epidemiology Conference that address the continuing education needs of epidemiologists at various stages of career development.

4.  Mentoring of students and public health professionals.
